hey, you are running the VJ11 turbo, but what about the VF11 turbo that comes stock in the 1991 Legacy turbos? would that work as well? I don't have any of these so I can't confirm if it's the same mounting or not. Jeremy

So I installed the new clutch last weekend. Now begins the long break-in process. I have learned that the kevlar disc needs a long break-in period so that it can properly seat with the pressure plate and flywheel. Also, it needs to go through a number of heat cycles such that the surface of the kevlar turns brown. It is really easy to slip this clutch during the break-in period, so I have to be especially careful not to boost at all until the break-in is complete. Since I work out of town all week for another month, I can only put some km's on the clutch on the weekends. When I left on monday I had 70kms on the new clutch, so it'll be awhile yet until I can confirm if this clutch was worth the money or not.

Your pressure plate's pivot point has been modified too, no? stacks I believe that they modified the pressure plates' springs, not the pivot point. However I didn't ask them precisely what they did to modify it. Jeremy

I spoke briefly to ottawa clutch staff what they would do.. Above my head for now,, -change diaphram pivot point and adjust disc thickness to match?? Something like that? stacks I honestly never thought to measure or look before I installed it. Jeremy

Well back with some more photos. Here is the engine bay as of saturday morning. I repainted all the charge pipes a gunmetal gray caliper paint, which has stood up to a month's engine bay heat without losing any of it's lustre. Onto better news! I just purchased a new Miller tig welder for a good deal. A friend gave me a replica blow-off valve for free to install in place of my factory mazda one. Rather than cut up my completed charge pipe to install the new BOV (different flanges), I decided to make an adapter pipe to allow me to install the new one, while still allowing for the old one to mount up if need be. Here I am using dimes to shim the pipe in the middle up so that the there aren't any high spots. Here is the completed valve and adapter installed in the engine bay. It does add a little "bling" to the bay for sure. Also, my clutch is finally broken in, and holds the boost just as it's supposed to. Now I just need to raise the boost to 10psi and I'll be pretty satisfied with the output. Also need to get more tig welding practice. Right now my intercooler is running out of it's efficiency range. I may have to upgrade it. The ability to tig weld a custom intercooler would sure come in handy right about now... Jeremy

Back with another update. This update concerns the fabrication of an oil catch can. I have a moroso one for this project (pictured on page 1), but I decided to make one that was more suited to the Justy. Here I started with some 5 x 3 x 1/8 Aluminum Box material 6061-T6 The box material sectioned, prepped and tacked together. Also most of the outside basic shapes have been cut. The basic box all welded up. Here I have welded two inner walls and a support for the filter later. The inner walls will be stuffed with steel wool to help grap the oil out of the air from the valvecover. Here is the box with a top cut out, and the baffling all completed. The steel wool has already been installed, but I forgot to take a picture of it stuffed in. Also here are the -10 AN fittings to be welded into the side of the box. Here is the box itself completely welded up. It still needs to have some mounting tabs welded to it. Here is the can bolted to the passenger side engine bay. I bent two tabs and welded them to the backside. Another angle. Here is the can uninstalled. You can see the two tabs that fasten it to the engine bay. Also you can see the sponge drop in filter installed. Next week I'll finish installing the can with the -10 hoses running to the valvecover. Also I will install a drain at the bottom of the can. I may also try to cut and weld -10 ferrules onto the factory aluminum carbed valvecover. If this works out then I may reinstall the metal cover. Jeremy

Which one of you douches told ME that I should not put on a turbo "because your engine needs to be fully tuned before you do anything"?

Which one of you douches told ME that I should not put on a turbo "because your engine needs to be fully tuned before you do anything"? there are some adjustments that need to be made but you can turbo a stock motor. depending on how strong your stock internals are on your motor as well. old worn rings and bearings won't last long.

But my car IS in tune. Whatever I said earlier pertained to the common annoyances of lack of power. Why aren't you an admin anymore?

If you are going to make a bitchy little post like that, start your own thread. Do not highjack Jeremy's. You have in no way demonstrated anything close to the obvious skill and ability that Jeremy clearly possesses, and I also said you should not attempt a turbo build if you haven't diagnosed and tuned your engine.

Yeah, yeah goddamn it...lol I think I'll take the old one to a shop here, they said 20 clams and they'll soup it right up. So without starting a new thread(shut up), when I was putting oil in it, I got to thinking...how often do you quart up your oil? As in...2 quarts every couple of weeks? Shit like that...I went to Oil Can Henry's and got the high mileage oil, that was all 53 dollars, I know, I was in a hurry, that was 2 and a half thousand miles ago, and last week, my oil light came on, so I added 2 quarts...more, less? What about you guys? If that oil leak is fixed then go for it, dude! -Danimal

Ok, I get it. So everyone leaks a little oil, I get shit for it. I was complaining about lack of power on a perfectly good running engine, and I am not allowed to put a turbo on, even if I have no skills to do so. Because you know for a fact and can prove I have no skills. No that's ok, just poking fun a SeattleJusty was not cool. No, I get it. Sorry Jeremy, nice car, beautiful work. Didn't mean to "hijack" your thread. Carry on, master experts.

I am not allowed to put a turbo on, even if I have no skills to do so. Do it. We give advice not permission. You are the one who asked in the first place.
