k putting a new clutch in my 1991 subaru just need some help becasue i havre no manual so any hints tips or what-not thanks guys, Rob C

Do it somewhere with a hoist.
You need to drop all the cross members, remove all 3 driveshafts, the shifter, starter, then un bolt the tranny and drop it out the bottom.
Apart from that, it's almost easier to undo all the wiring connectors for the engine, and pull everything out at one.
I know i can have the engine and tranny combo out in about 1.5 hrs. It takes around that time to get the tranny out the bottom.

ok well i started taking it apart then i got a really good idea!! take it to a dealer!!!!!! this is crazy i dont know much about cars so time to take it in !

can you take the engine out and leave the tranny/driveshafts intact?

can you take the engine out and leave the tranny/driveshafts intact? yes.....just make shure all the engine mount are unbolted so the trany can move...to let the engine tilte so it can get out... and then you can also change the clutch.....it the good time to do it...even if the clutch is not completely finish...

well i said screw it and i took it in to a dealer and they said 250 just to install the clutch ya so i spent 100 on the clutch kit so 350 for a new performence clutch is not to bad! ;D
