Where can i put the pick-up for a mechanical oil pressure gauge feed tubing? Drill and tap the head or is there a "natural" oil pressure access anywhere, does anybody know?

There's an oil pressure port on the back of the engine near the oil filter. The sending unit for the idiot light is screwed into this port. You can either eliminate the idiot light sending unit and attach your gauge fittings directly to the block, or get a T-fitting to run both.

Thank you justy4x4, it was obviously there with its rubber booth right beside the oil can i changed only days ago. I was the idiot light not seeing it by not beeing in a good mood enought to search it properly. Thanks again. Now it's time for adaptors, fittings and plumbing. cdion

Does anyone know what size the fittings are? I'll also get a T fitting, but will have to get it without getting them out in the first place.

I bought the adapter kit at Autozone for $10. It came with about 5 different adapters to adapt it to the Sunpro electric gauge. Mine works pretty good. It does jump around but I can tell what the pressure is. By the way , my pressure holds pretty well towards the upper end(49lbs.) after I replaced the oil pump shaft , rod and main bearings. I tied the wiring for the oil pressure guage into the back of the instrument panel. Tom
