Got a chance to drive a honda ACTY mini pickup truck today. Massive 660cc engine centrally mounted and select AWD They only come with the steering wheel on the wrong side.anyway I started to check some stuff out and found the Subaru Sambar. 660cc Engine mounted in the rear and select AWD ...some even come supercharged. It's a four cyl.engine so there is no interchange there! but anybody know if and what there is that interchanges with the justy.

sj; All, I wonder if that select system is the new 'Traxlok' set up found on these Honda bad boys... " ...Engine/Drivetrain • TraxLok(tm) enables the rider to shift between 2WD and 4WD with the simple push of a switch. Quiet operation and smooth engagement are key features of the system. • Torque-sensitive, limited-slip front differential reduces torque steer for less steering effort. • TraxLok is easily engaged by pushing a switch on the right handlebar. An electromagnetic mechanical clutch unit (EMCU) located on the center of the propeller shaft engages 4WD with a quiet two-way roller clutch. Unlike mechanical designs, TraxLok ensures smooth operation by employing a magnetic switching mechanism that engages when front and rear wheel speeds vary by less than 6 miles per hour..." Have fun,

Here is a Honda Acty I don't have a picture of a Subaru Sambar yet.I like the idea of a mini 4 WD pick up and the reason for this post was to see if my stockpile of justy parts would help in maintaining a sambar. I noticed talk on a minitruck forum of half shafts with cotter pins retaining them! Sound familiar. Maybe the front or rear diff. half shafts, hubs, brake drums all interchange?.

Well one big reason to drive a Subaru over a Blazer is that the Subaru won't return to the Earth as soon as you slam shut the door. Boy I tell ya, if you could sell rust for the same price as copper, the London Metal Exchange would have a category called General Motors

SJ, That photo brings back memories! My buddy George had a 1975 Chevy 4X4 that he bought from the FINS (Fire Island National Seashore) patrol back in 1983. This thing only had 56,000 Mi on it but, the body made the truck in your picture look like a Barrett/Jackson show piece! That thing ran like a top BUT... The rear quarters flapped in and out like the wings on Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang going down the road! Another cool thing was you could look "through" the doors from the outside and see the inside occupants feet, and if you held your head just right you could stand on the right side of the truck and see straight through to the left side. When it rained the water would pour down the "inside" of the windshield as well as on your head from the rotted areas around the cab running light mounts. The best feature though... The fact that if you drank too many beers and had to "tap the keg" you could pee down through the floorboards and never hit anything but the ground zipping by underneath your feet! Only down side of riding in this truck... All occupants were required to have a tetanus shot!! Oh, the good old days! Jim

thanks sj it is really funny
i found out what was wrong with my justy all the parts that have been put on my subaru that are made in "america" are all worthless and need to be replaced
The spark plugs are all dead and will not transmit a spark,
The coil is only reciving 6 volts ?? so it is not creating a strong enough spark to even jump the burnt up plugs plug,
ill have to do some wire tracing and see why voltage is so low
half the vacuum lines were pluged with bolts it's a wonder how the car even made it 15,000 miles after the motor swap
the exhaust is rusted off in several places behind the muffler "bering" and where the muffler use to be
oh yeah sj why have we never seen a picture of your justy???

thanks sj it is really funny.....oh yeah sj why have we never seen a picture of your justy??? Good question. Here's your answer: My Justys are a bone-stock white, squarebody, DL <--> like you need to see another one of those and a bone-stock roundbody GL <--> you've seen how many hundreds of those? My special 'project-Justy' is top secret however. Only one other person on this board knows about it and I am keeping quiet. I think it goes without saying that I detest bench-racers, day-dreamers and armchair-quarterbacks with ferver. For those reasons I have not posted anything about what I've got, what I'm going to do to it, etc etc. I once had a sales job where my boss would approach me at each day's end and ask what did you sell today?, and I would sometimes give the lame offerings well I got a guy who's gonna come back tomorrow and buy, or I almost closed the deal on a $___ sale, etc etc. He always said the same thing to me: "Show me your hand". I would open my hand and it would be empty. That lesson has stayed with me forever. When I have something special to show you, I will. Until then, I drive a bone-stock Justy every day. Use your imagination. Five stars, b!tches

SJ, Sounds like you and I worked for the same boss in a manor of speaking! I learned the same lesson when I sold used cars back in 1987. Glad to hear you've got a Justy project in the works! Hope all is going well with it and as always, if I can help with any info please feel free to PM me if you like. Sadly, work has taken me away from the Justy board for a while but, its good to be back on here now. Good Luck! Jim

It is always a pleasure to read your posts and an even better to have your appreciation. Don't expect to hear anything about any projects of mine any time soon. I just moved into a bigger rental house. It has a detatched one car garage that is only 18'X15' but it is on a slope and built just like the house....the garage has a full basement! ;D I will be occupied most of this Summer, cleaning, insulating, building utility shelves and benches, a custom local-exhaust air system and more. I just got a brand new, 60-gallon, 3.7 HP, iron cyl, 14CFM compressor to power my blast cabinet If you guy(s) want, I will post pictures of my garage and workshop as it comes along. How this will help you figure out Sambar/Justy parts interchange I don't know... then again, it doesn't matter since they aren't interchangable!
