I just put the "new" engine back in the justy but now for some reason it will only move if in 4wd. If it is in 2wd and I put it in gear it goes nowhere but the speedometer shows a positive speed. Any thoughts on why this is happening?
PS: I also rebuilt the front passenger side cv shaft, but I don;t see how that would cause this problem. And yes, I put the pin back in.

The speedo runs off of the right side CV shaft output. The right hand CV shaft must not be transfering power to the wheel. Turn the steering hard to the right and take a look at that shaft while the engine is running in gear. You'll most likely see it spinning freely in their.

you are correct... the inner connector and boot are spinning but the shaft is not. I must have messed up the shaft when I put the engine back in.

Did you have the CVs connected when you put in the engine? If not I don't think it's possible to mess up the shaft without absolute brutal force. Do you hear any rattle or other sounds from the CV ?
Greetings, Klaus

I just forgot to put a metal clip back on the shaft... without it, the shaft just slid out of the bearings
