I'm thinking about welding in a roll cage in my justy, mostly because when im drifting if i catch something on the trial or road, its going to flip and there is nothing that will stop the ground from going to my head. anyways, i was wondering how thick of tubing i should use (I.D. and O.D.), i dont need to meet any official rally specs, but i just wanna know whats safe.

your right bout the ground in the head, a young bloke not far from me did that in his justy. wrapped it round a telegraph pole after rolling through a ditch playing with another car......

yeah dunk, it was someone from the justy club i think?!
he said it was repaired?!! and not alot of damage considering!!!! if you ask me i would never put a rolled car back on the road.....to risky!
he had no injuries either, he said the justy was very strong considering!! mind you, ive dinked mine...and it still goes well....hit a mile stone on the front pushing bits back, 2 spins catching the same front corner. but everything worked after and drove away from all three close calls.
i wouldnt want to be in a side-on crash though, your sure to die in a justy then!!!!

right, i have a price for a full cage on my beast.
steel (aluminium is outlawed for rally): £550 plus Vat. door bars are an extra £150 plus Vat.
it works out just over £800, which is good i think

If you want In formation for specking cars for rallying Get in touch with your local car club as there usually pretty good with regulations, they even will know the best places to go for them.
