has anyone got the dimensions or a plan that works well for a skid plate? ;D would you be willing to share it with me? i would like to make one and machine in the word "Justy" or "Subaru" on the front of it for a little style too also, what would be a good gauge of steel to use? thanks, Dan

I've been meaning to reply to this for a while...
maybe Jeff has some pics of the car he can post with the skid pan on?
What we did was weld a piece of 1"x1" bar across the front on two drop down supports from the front sub frames. then welded a 1.5" x 1.5" bar across the rear of the center sub frame/engine support, then bolt a welded reinforced plate to that. It's 1/8 " thick if I recall rightly... and we're bent it pretty good a few times... but running at the back of the pack, often means we're running through sludge and the skid plate works like a big ski alot!

I just got finished making a very large skidplate for my justy, if you look under the engine, you can see and very small, hardly efficient skidplate, what i did was take a big piece of sheet metal, and cut it down a little bit, and shape the front end close to the original skid plate shape, then attach the other end about halfway down the chassis where there are two long shafts that are perfect to mount it to, there isnt really any easy dimensions to it, its mostly cut out a shape and bolt it on
