I need help. Not sure how active this forum still is, but ive got a '91 carb justy, and the carb will not fill with fuel.
I checked the pump, and it appears to be doing nothing.
I checked the fuses, and they are all(even under hood) fine.
I tried a new pump, and it also appears to do nothing.
After some research, i replaced every single relay under the dash(wasnt sure which went to the FP lol), and still nothing.
After a bit more research, I also noticed my CEL does not come on when the key is in the on position, ever, and im fairly sure it used to(it ran weeks ago, then ran shitty, then refused to idle, then never started again).
And now im here, and im lost. It has air, spark, timing and compression. When I get home, im going to try a little gas down the carb, see if that gets a cough to prove it, but im at my wits(and wallets) end...

Update: squirted some gas into the carb, both the bowl and straight down its throat, and nothing. Took a plug out and checked for spark, also nothing.
Also took my ECU out and took it apart(carefully), and it still looked brand new. Didnt see any leaking capacitors or broken solder, no water or physical damage, not even any dust. No bent or broken pins in the connectors either. Reinstalled, and still nothing.
So, whatever problem this is, its causing there to be no power to the coil, to the FP, and to the ECU. i have power to evetything else though, lights, wipers, even my cigarette lighter.
This is really driving me nuts...

Okay, so, another update. Good news and bad news... the good news, the problem is fixed!
The bad news is, ive no idea what I did to fix it.
After testing the ECU by hand with a multimeter(i found a guy who has an actual schematic and test procedure book for it), it tested fine. Put it back in the car, no start.
Found a ground wire that attaches to the firewall broken off, repaired, no start.
Pulled and retested all the relays for both click and continuity, all good, replaced, no start.
Poked at the ignition switch, tested all wires for continuity, all good, no start.
Threw a few tools, kicked a few bumpers, said some nasty things about its mother, and went and got lunch.
Came back, and the fuel pump fired right up. Primed it a few times, checked carb, carb is full. Cranked it, and it fired right up...
And I am STILL baffled. Lol maybe it needed a firm(harsh) talking to and some time to think about it, who knows.
Either way, its running now. Not great, but running. Has no more oil leaks thanks to the new camshaft/distributor seals, but spat a huge ball of smoke the other day and now burns oil, im thinking an oil ring broke. It also stumbles on light accel, but smoothes when I push intothe secondary(probably the broken ring), and its only getting 25-27 mpg when I feel it should be closer to 30.
Now to find a ring kit and rod bearing kit. Break some glaze, drop an oil pan... getto engine rebuild. :3
