1989 Justy GL, 4WD, 5spd. Just installed the remanufactured Carburetor (pretty sure everything is hooked up right...) Starts up at the turn of the key, revs to about 3 or 4,000 rpms, then settles and idles on it's own... I still need to adjust and tune the carb a little. "The issue here?" I noticed that turning the running and/or headlights ON will make the engine rev up to 5 or 6,000 rpms and stay there, until switch back to OFF... ?? Anyone else experience this, mind boggling, issue?

The idle up solenoid could cause that. Its supposed to raise the idle speed about 100rpm when the lights or radiator fan are on. Just back off the adjusting screw. Same with the fast idle screw, back it off so the rpms aren't so high when you first start it. Both of these adjusting screws are on the throttle shaft next to the throttle plate, not on the carburetor body itself.

RPM'S are not high, at start up... I'm going to tune it in, the best I can, how it is. Then see if the problem is still present.
