Hey, My name is Bart, and I live in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. I have a 1993 Subaru Justy 1.0L, with 244000 km on it (150000 miles). One of my older sisters bought it in 2002, another sister owned it until 2009, when it passed to me. I think she bought it because my grandparents both had Subarus, my Grandfather an '86 Leone, and my Grandmother an '87 Justy. It still goes great (put in electronic ignition and just did some work on the drivetrain), though I have to get some rust repaired so it can pass its Warrant of Fitness. Apart from a broken set of points and a bad capacitor, it has never let me down. I thought it was time to stop lurking .

Thanks...what's the best way to get a picture of it up? The picture feature only lets you link to an external URL.

That's right. It still has points, but I have upgraded the ignition system to points triggered electronic (points used to burn up a lot before). I would prefer a fully electronic ignition, but have had trouble finding an upgrade kit.
My car is insanely simple. It is a 2WD with the one litre engine. It has a carburettor, manual choke, points ignition, and no emissions controls whatsoever.

I have never dealt with the 1ltr engine but what I have read and seen about the 1.2 ltr engines is they are all electronic ignition, at least what Ive seen and read in north america. I wonder if you could fit a later 1.2 dizzy in your 1 ltr or at least swap the internals, you would need the ignitor unit as well. Just a thought, im sure someone on the boards could answer that question. That is a simple rig you have there!
