Hi! For starters I am sorry for my bad english, it's my second language so bear with me. I need to change 1st cylinder piston for my EF12 engine. I was wondering would it be possible to change it by removing it from the downside? I mean, taking the crank away and pulling piston down. The reason for doing it this way is cause I have copper flame rings(if this is how you call them) in it, and I don't want to remove the head if I dont have to, so I don't have to renew them. So the question is, is it possible to remove the piston by pulling it down and can I fit the new in the same way?

Sorry...
Nope, the block casting gets in the way...
out the top only.

That is what I thought, thanks for your reply. I was just thinking to get it cheaply done. It's hard to get these parts here in Finland, where almost all major changes to stock cars are forbidden.

Sadly its hard to get these parts anywhere. Even here in the united states. I was lucky enough to have bought an engine rebuild kit from dusty justys right before they went down. Anyone hear anything on them?
