I was wondering is there a posssibility to get forged pistones for EF12. I know there is a possibility to have a custom made pistones, but that means $$$ I've done a little research, and I think I have found something. Opel (GM) engine X16XE/ C16XE is 79mm bore (EF12 is 78mm nominal and I guess it can be bored out to 79mm), piston wrist is 18mm (the same, so it should do with standard EF12 rods - forged:)), piston compression high is the same - 28,2mm. I know that X16XE/C16XE is 16V engine, so pistons have 4 bores for 4 valves, but i guess it is not a problem. And the most important thing is that it is easy to find forged pistones dedicated for this engine. I am not sure if I'm right. So correct me if I'm wrong.

Welcome and thanks for bringing up a possible alternative source of a piston, Most of the members of this forum are on the west side of the Atlantic and we never had any modern Opel cars and thus engines over here. So if you can make certain that your idea is correct then we will all be indebted to you for sure. Here is some really relevant info regarding measurements: subarujusty.proboards.com/thread/6134/engine-specifications-diagrams

you are right anyway, it's just an idea. By now I will not put forged pistons into my justy, but in the future... you never know
