Use a center punch and knock the bolts in a counter clockwise direction then undo them with your fingers.
Either replace with new he head bolts or cut a slice in the head so you can use a screwdriver to reassemble.

Terry Great advice Terry, I have used a small chisel and if I got one out I cut the other with a hacksaw between the cap and body. The remaining piece of bolt just threads out by hand. Practice on yours and then when you get to remove another from a wrecker car you can save the 2 bolts you will need to make 4 regular bolts to hold it back when installed. If you grab all of the door and hatch locks then you can have your car under a new single key.

Thanks guys!! I may end up doing the hacksaw approach, or invest in a dremel, I totally forgot about the more primitive aspect of removing something but two things, one, I think I might leave the switch out altogether and come up with an alternative form of starting the car (such as a push-button which was on my '91 plus I'm seeing it on quite a few Justys on CL), is there any issues as far as performance, integrity that you can think of? And, I thought those bolts were once off/once on...

Yes the 2 smooth head BOLTS are single use, the other 2 regular bolts can be reused, that is why I suggested reusing the extra 2 from the used ignition you get from a donor car. The ignition with its key always works up to the run circuit, it is the last start circuit that burns out. I put in a spring loaded start only button in my rusty red 88 and it has been working fine now for years. It is nice having the peace of mind that there is still the theft deterrent of a locking steering column ignition lock and a mysterious button hidden down low to make the starter come to life.

One more thing, when working on these steering column locks, ALWAYS unplug the wire harness from the back of the lock first. then take out the one long bolt that holds the column up. it drops down a few more inch's and is much easier to work on. However if you do not take the wires off first the bachalite plastic portion of the back of the ignition gets wrecked when it slides down.

Well I see the two smooth-head bolts, but I'm not sure where these other two reusable bolts are at....shit, all this just to unlock the wheel haha

Ok....ignition switch is finally removed. But now for whatever reason, she won't even crank. As if it's a dead battery, exept both batteries have a full charge. Ugh....
