So I just replaced my head. I had her running strong. Then out of nowhere she won't start. Not even a click of the starter. The lights/radio work fine.
I was checking the grounds when I noticed the steel braided band was not hooked up. ( the one that attaches to the front of the engine bay, next to the radiator. ) I think this might be the culprit. I checked my fuses ( even the 3 big ones in the engine bay ) everything was fine. So what does that braided band hook to? Should I be looking for something else?

the cable hooks to the upper rad support at the end of the cable. in the middle of the cable there is an attachment pointthat goes to the right side chassis.
when you hook the end of the cable to the rad, the other attachment point kind of lines up.
this is not what is keeping your car from starting. however, this exact ground did keep my intermittent wipers from properly functioning.
check the ground on the left side of the car at the transmission. it should be a big bat cable that runs from the transmission to the chassis then to the negative side of the battery cable. I know you said your fuses are fine but you didnt say which ones you checked. in front of the brake booster there is a 3-fuse holder that houses the main fuses. check and replace those as needed. also make sure the cables to the starter havent fallen off. theres a big one for juice that needs to be snug and a tiny one for "signal." if either of those are loose or have fallen off it wont start.
lights and radio are not indicative that your battery is good. it takes under 5 amps to run those items. it takes 500 amps to start a car and voltage at 12 volts or above.
as an order of operations thing, the braided ground should be first. then check the grounds, cables and main fuses. third, jump start the car.

I don't understand what you mean with the braided steel strap... One end is bolted on the radiator housing, I'm assuming that's the ground... But ground for what?

the ground from the radiator to the engine is a braided steel cable on my car. www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Braided-Ground-Strap-Caps/dp/B001JT7DHElooks like that but there is a fitting in the middle of the length of the cable that allows me to bolt it to the chassis in three places on the cable. given that you have a neutral safety switch i presume your car is much newer than mine. i have an 89
