My 1994 Subaru Justy needed struts bad, but I was also wearing out the inside edge of my front tires, even after alignment! My front tires had too much negative camber and my only adjustment was the toe! My upper strut plates were torn but there was a deeper cause! This was the bushing on my right front control arm. Oil leaks from my previous two engines softened the rubber to the point it was mushy soft. It did not center the control arm so under vehicle weight it allowed the control arm to move further out causing the tires to lean inward at the top and out at the bottom. This is the driver side. Although it was not wet with oil, you can see the bushing was not centered. I ended up replacing all these parts. Along with the struts, lower ball joints, control arms, and the strut rod bushings under the radiator. They control the caster. The results: I now have slight positive camber on both front wheels. No more tire wear! All within spec!

negative camber is good. wrong toe in/out is what causes the tyre wear as usual. you must have much negative camber before that causes tyrewear. talking from experience. but ofcourse somebody might have other opinions. I would rather have negative camber then the stock setup. understeers alot. the angle is positive stock and when you turn your wheels the angle will be even more positiv so thats why you want to have a negative camber, so the tires have more contact to the asfalt in corners. great thread btw
