Hi, this is my first ever post on any blog/board/site, please bear with me.
I have purchased a defective 1993 2wd Justy with ECVT, the clutch brushes read open with a volt meter, so I knew that a set of $7.00 brushes would put this car back on the road.
It didn't, the resistance is correct based on a manual i read (20 Ohms i think) so we cut one of the electric clutch wires and ran it thru my meter to measure current, it peaked at 3.4 amps if you revved the engine and the vehicle lunged forward just for an instance, so it appears that the clutch works.
I was told from the previous owner that the ECVT had a problem where the cones would move out the extent and get stuck and require the motor/ecvt to be pulled and disassembled to knock the cones free. (please let me know if this is true)
I was hoping to find a flowchart troubleshooting guide for the ecvt, and have not found such a thing.
Symptoms; there are no indicator lights on the dash Starts fine cant put into gear, shift lock stuck, have to use a key. (might be indicative of something greater) once in drive and rpms reach 1500 car acts like to wants to move, just nudges forward a bit.
please, some guidance would be great, thanks.
