My local auto shop can't figure out what is wrong with my ECVT, so they say I need a new one, but I can't afford $3k to get a brand new Tranny for the car.
So does anyone have one, know about one, or has the ability to fix mine, especially in the Colorado Area, but I am willing to figure out the logistics if further away...
Thanks for anyone who can help!
Just to note... the car won't go higher than first gear. I thought this meant it was just the brushes, but I replaced them with known to be good brushes (from my happy and healthy justy), and the car still won't go above first.

Unfortunately they are getting rare. Is it 2wd or 4wd? Has anyone tried pulling codes out of the computer? I have an extremely limited amount of experience and knowledge with these transmissions but to me if it isn't "up shifting" it must either, A) Think you're in LOW range or B) Not understand the output shaft speed Terry

there is the possability that the car doesnt know what the position of the throttle is, where the gear selector is, or the throttle position cable under the hood is bad. As long as the transmission doesnt slip and the car goes, I don't think it is shot. How does it do in reverse?

It is a 4wd. In reverse it seemed very shuddery but I only drove it back into a parking space several feet. I am not sure it would go further. Does that mean it is slipping or confused? Er... is there a way to dumb it down so that I could give the auto shop an idea of what to look into? Would they have known to look at these things? Unfortunately my maximum amount of knowledge on the matter is how to check the brushes... and that was because there was a picture guide on here.

Oh! And I would guess that the auto shop would check any codes, but I am not 100% sure that they did, either.

A good shop can still do the usual stall speed and pressure tests on the transmission. The best thing to do would be to get a FSM for it as it isnt a terribly complicated transmission to diagnose.
