hi everyone i purchase a 1990 subaru justy about 9 months ago after it has sat in a front yard for 15 years it only has 57,233 miles but the old lady that sold it said the transmission slipped when you start driving i havent drove it yet because i still trying to get the parts i need but by what i seebn on wikipedia it has a feel of a slip but it actually isnt an its the ecvt transmission

It is probably the brushes for the electric clutch. Thats about the mileage they need new brushes

Like nipper pointed out there are 2 brushes make contact to engage the drive, the brushes wear down over time (or get stuck) and need to be replaced. I used FA-161 Nippondenso brushes they are the same dimensions as what come in the ECVT transmission. Look for a local altenator repair shop they should carry these or be able to get them ordered for you. there is another thread on how to replace the brushes here subarujusty.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ecvt&action=display&thread=4534. The fix isn't that hard and will save you about 150$ maybe more considering labor from a dealership. **I paid $2.95 or so for each brush bought 4 just to be safe.
