On my 89 GL I hit a pot ho,e that was deep but didnt feel that bad till a thunk appeared. See,s i ripped the right side sway bar mount off the control arm. Not a biggie, a welder can fix it. However since this a 1989 with 36K on it, I am going to assume that the bolts are going to put up a hell of a fight on the end links. Does anyone have a source or part that can be used to replace these?

I don't have a source for the part you are looking for, but if you are having the mount welded onto the control arm the welder can also build you some new end links. When I installed the rear anti-sway on my '88 I chopped the top u-bracket off the end links and welded beefier ones on made out of channel iron. It's kind of hard to tell in this picture. A welder could make you a complete new one out of a channel iron bracket like I made and a bolt. Not exactly the answer you're looking for I know, but it's an option. I also welded reinforments onto the control arm mounts. Again, it's kind of hard to tell in the picture.

Interesting. A NYC pothole did the damage, and also took a tire out. Funny the pothole did not feel that bad and i was making a left turn at the time from a red light.
Hes my buddy is going to do the welding for me.
A little research showed that the DL did not have a rear sway bar but my GL did. So I can live without it for a little bit untill we can make a stronger fix. Thanks this helps.

ferox, Was that a worth while mod to your 88? I often wonder what it would feel like. I have a 2nd gen sway bar sitting around doing nothing, but didn't want to go through all the work of installing it if it didn't help.

Terry I'll let you know when I get the garage queen on the road again. That's about as far as I got before had to finish my trailer build when I moved to my current house. Said house has taken over my schedule. The plan is to get a new welder in the next few months to resume the Justy build. I believe it was SubieJim that first did this mod years ago and said it was very worthy, so that's why I did it.

Okay maybe I'll look in to it.
nipper, check the Subaru dealership. I bought all new front end bushing for my car and they were between $2 and $6 each. Except the torsion bar bushings, they were around $20 each.

Hey Nipper, at the JY today I noticed that the rear sway bar end links for some of the Gen 1 Legacys look identical to the Justy end links. If they are not exactly the same, I think they would work just fine anyway.
