So i tryed to install my hids today with the high/low kit from ddm tuning and when i went to turn on the running lights or the headlights the fuse on the left, 2nd from the bottom of the fuse box kept blowing. So i disconected the hids and installed a new fuse and went to turn either the running lights or headlights on and it blew again. It seems there is a issue with the running light circuit as the parking lights have no issue as they turn on when i press the running light switch. They dont turn on with the running or headlights as the fuse blows for those circuits. Anyone know what could be the problem?

We are guessing it could be the light switch? Going to test it soon

Havent been on here for a while but i purchased a new headlight switch and installed it but i still have the same problem. I did a motor pull on it and a full rebuild and had to move the harness on the driver side to get it out of the way so im thinking maybe i shorted out a wire in it? is that possible? Is there a common location on the 87-89`s were they short out? Thanx

If it does it consistently enough you should be able to rig up a fault checker using an old flasher.
My car had this issue and I tool my tail lights out, looked around and ended up putting it back together and never had the issue again.
