I just put 4 new 175-70-R13s on my 93 Justy which works fine until I put 2 passengers in the back the Justy bottoms out. Any Ideas?

I just put 4 new 175-70-R13s on my 93 Justy which works fine until I put 2 passengers in the back the Justy bottoms out. Any Ideas? Just to be said; your door panel should have guided you to a 165-65-13 (or equivalent) size of tire.. For that size tire: Unfortunately there is not much you can do for the rear wheel wells. The tiny rear wells do not allow over-sizing the tires and 175-70-13 is a +1/+1 (width/diameter) bump in size from OEM (165-65-13) You can get a little bit of clearance back if you were to remove the edge beading and plastic inner-well (the front is where you are rubbing). I tried this and still get some rubbing with fat passengers in the rear seats . The good news is that you will not cut into the new tread significantly and eventually the tread will wear to the extend that it will go silent. *** Do note that road debris and salt can cause significant damage to the bare wells (I sprayed a few coats of rubberized undercoating for protection after removing the plastic parts). *** Hear is a picture of the rear rub point on 175-70-r13's on my vehicle. I had to flair my front fenders about an inch out to stop the rubbing in the front wheels as well. -good luck and happy Justy adventures to you

My Justy also bottomed out in the rear and I really didn't want to fork out the dough for new struts so you want to hear the crazy awesome thing I did to fix it?
Tiny footballs. Yep, I put a Nike 500 mini football into each of the rear springs and pumped those bad boys up. The ball is a little too big so I had to fold it, but Cheese and Crackers it works perfectly. I imagine the balls will go flat over time, but I left the air inlet accessible so I can just lay behind car and fill em back up.
Total Justy Forum grade fix!

Just FYI the little footballs worked great, but lose air too quickly. I got tired of pumping them up. So I'm removing them and putting some tall urethane bump stops in.

i just installed 175 tires too.
i had mine rubbing on the inside of the wheel well right where it starts to get into "frame" it was obvious by the marks. i took a massive sledge hammer (ok 4lb or something) and hammered it in until it cleared then painted over it. also because i didnt really look and just assumed some things, i radiused the fenders a TON. front to back i could probably fit some massive 17's in there.
If i had to do it again, id have just got like a 3mm wheel spacer for the rear and MAYBE some longer studs depending on the final amount of engagement the lugs had. Also id still probably knocked out the fender wells a bit but not nearly as much as i did.
