It`s time to upgrade from 12" to 13". Like other postings it`s getting real difficult to find 12" tires in the midwest. I know it`s probably been discussed but I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a run down on what other cars share the same wheel as the justy. I`ve been watching the craigslists and other local area sellings and I truly believe that I have the last running justy in the midwest.LOL All my old salvage stomping grounds have crushed there justys. Any help with info would be appreciated. RONAN

Ronan, I can't believe you cannot find 12" tires someplace. Actually for me here in the Northeast it has become easier to obtain them. I used to go online, but now I actually have a local tire dealer who stocks 155 80R 12s...I don't know why they suddenly became available here...I'm like you, not having seen another Justy in years.

I`ve got 1 choice locally and it`s what I have on my car already. Some Chinese brand with a spin-off name to Goodyear and they are terrible. The tread design is nothing more than 4 grooves on a slick. Looks like it belongs on a Walmart wheel barrow. I`m happy to hear that your odds hyave improved in the Northeast for tires. It`s always easy to find tires and parts for that matter in the Northwest but quite difficult and getting to be a treasure hunt anymore for my 1st Gen here in the Midwest. I bought this car for $250 from a salvage yard because I`m a SCOOB FANATIC and always wanted one. $500+ in parts off of EBAY and 3 months of torturing myself has resulted in about 7yrs of service. But I`ll be DAMED if I`m going to pay almost $60 for a Chinese wheel barrow tire. Thats why I thing it`s time to go to a 13" which is also starting to get extinct. WHA WHA WHA.

I hear ya buddy...I paid nearly $60 a piece for my last two front tires, and they are Chinese garbage(noisy and terrible handling) but what is the option?? If you go to 13s you have to get all new rims and larger front brakes and you still don't have many choices in tires, same old Chinese junk. If there were no 12" tires available I'd be Justy-less

You got it, that is why I want to upgrade. You have me puzzled with your statement. Help me out in understanding. Why would I have to go with larger brakes to run 13`s

I think you're right. The GLs have the 13" wheels and larger front brake assemblies, but then the question becomes why? Perhaps SJ or somebody else in the know can chime in on this, it has probably been commented on in the past.

Perhaps SJ or somebody else in the know can chime in on this, it has probably been commented on in the past. In North America all Gen1s have 12" wheels and the smaller disc brakes regardless of drive system or trim level. Base model Gen2s continued with 12" wheels & small brakes but heavier GLs and 4X4s got bigger wheels & brakes. Do I really need to say why? Secret answer: Gen2 GLs and 4X4s are not just heavier, they are also considered top of the line.
Extra credit: look closely at that decal on the side of your car more closely people. That's not an A, it's a 4

Thats OK, so back to my original posting. What other vehicles share the same bolt pattern and center bore and offset in a 13" wheel **ronan**, you can run the 13" rim with no issue. The Gen2 GL (and 4WD) 13" rim will fit a Gen1 hub correctly. The tire size will have to be corrected for the new rim size but in north america there are more tire options for the 13" size. For OEM fitting: the Gen1&2 12" rim had 145S(80)R12 or 165/70R12, the Gen2 13" rim had 165/65R13 as it's OEM size. The diameter difference is about 1.3%. Or 60mph on the speedo is really 60.8mph actual. -RRJ

OK, I looked through a lot of old postings and found one from seattlejusty stating that old pulsars & NX`s with a 13" wheel was a direct swap if I read it right. I found one that a fella was parting out on craigslist and he claims that his have aluminum wheels on it and he would sell them with tires for $120. I told him I`d like to look and asked him if they were factory or aftermarket?

**ronan**, for non OEM wheels, check that the center bore will fit the front hub before you spend your money. There is not a good amount of clearance for the suspension components on the Justy as well. If I recall correctly, the Justy front wheel wells may require modifications to fit an aftermarket wheel wider than 6".

OK, I am going to keep watching for options to upgrade to a 13" wheel.
I did pull the trigger on a new set of 12" Hankook w401. I got them for $40 a tire. It beats the 4 groove slicks that are sold around here for $60

Just to give you an update on my new 12" snowtires. LMAO I`ve owned this car since late 04 and it`s been my daily driver since. I`ve always wanted to put a set of snow tires on it and finally get my chance to see how it really reacts with snow on the roads. I`ve dealt with at least one or two legit accumulations for this area since owning my little buddy and had fun in it. GUESS WHAT??? NO SNOW!!! TALK ABOUT REAL LUCK!!!
