I have finally found a good fix for the commonly broken bottom motor mount on the Justy.
All it took was about 5 bucks for some hockey pucks and about a days worth of work.
Here are the two broken halves of the motor mount I had to start with.
First on the bottom piece you need to remove all of the existing rubber mount. Then you need to remove the bolt studs that hold it to the crossmember. Then drill holes in the exact location and size of the studs you just cut off. You can use the crossmember as a reference for this. Here is what you should end up with.
Then I welded a flat piece of metal on the top of the top piece of the motor mount, so I had a flat non-holey surface to work with. I forgot to take a pic at this point but here's a later one to give you an idea. Just ignore the bolt heads in the middle for now.
Next you need two hockey pucks, one you can leave alone the other needs to be cut in half. So stacked together the equal about an inch and a half.
Next you need to very carefully line the two halves of the motor mount back up with the hockey pucks in the middle.
Then starting with the holes on the bottom half drill through the hockey pucks and the top half of the motor mount.
You can do this one piece at a time if its easier just make sure everything is lined up perfectly or you'll have one hell of a time getting it back together.
I would also recommend staring with one hole then bolting it together and drilling the second.
once all the holes are drilled you can run the bolts through, they need to be about 3.75" long to go through the motor mount and the crossmember.
I welded mine to the top, but this is not required. It does make it easier to bolt back together and helps ensure they won't go through your oil pan if something goes wrong.
This is what you should end up with after all that and a half ass coat of paint.
Finally you can bolt it back on the car, this may take some persuading to get all the holes lined up right, but if you did it right it will go back together.
The hockey pucks are a little stiff so it will vibrate more than normal at first, but they kinda settle in and smooth out after a couple days.
I hope this helps some of you, I'm open to all questions, comments feel free to shoot back your ideas.
Thanks, Dave
