Or at least making an attempt at such! My car is a little rusty, so I am going to drench the bolts with PB Blaster and then do something else for a while. I need to change these bushings in my car and my friend's car before a good alignment can be done.
If anyone has any tips or tricks or torque specs, let me know! I have the Chilton's manual in case I need to start a fire.

You'll have to remove the rods from the car via undoing them from the control arm and sway bar, I wouldn't recommend puulling the mounts off the body. Terry

Terry Yep, this was my plan and how I ended up doing it. It was made easier by the fact that the front nuts were barely even hand tight. This inspired me to check a whole lot more bolts... Anyway, I undid the front nuts and then popped the control arm nuts and loosened the sway bar mount. Then I was able to slide the tension rod back enough to swap the bushings and push it back. I found that it was really hard to get the studs into the control arm until the bushings were compresses a little, so I used a vise grip wrapped with duct tape to hold the rear still while I tightened the front enough to pop in the studs. I found torque specs off Dusty's which was helpful, though the specs don't always seem logical. The car is nice and tight up front and the replacement bushings were at least 5mm taller than the old dried ones that were in the car. I could move the front wheels fore/aft almost an inch by hand and now I cannot. So, it looks like I may be able to get an alignment which is great because I am close to needing tires again!! I only got 6k miles out of these 165/65-14 RE92's. Poor car gets driven hard... Only thing left is that my front swaybar bushings were GONE. They were completely mushy and gone.

I was wondering where you got the strut rod bushings from? Did you get the original Subaru bushings or the Moog bushings?

I got them from Subaruparts.com. Great place to do business - call and talk to Andrew as finding parts for the Justy is a "manual" affair. I need to give him a call again as my outer sway bar bushings are just gone. So bad actually that I pulled off the swaybar altogether until I can get new rubber.
