Just saw this listed on Dustysjustys site.
"80W Limited-Slip Axle Fluid (synthetic blend works best) "
I've been using good 'ol 80W90 gear oil. I don't think it has any limited slip additives. Would this somehow help with tranny syncro issues?

How about Red Line MT-90? It works great with worn syncros in Nissans' gearbox...

I found a TSB on Justy trans oils.
Reference number: SSHU 0192-01 January 1992
For complaints of gear clash (grinding) during shifting. Remember that the only Subaru gear oil Part Numbers are K0324F0091 for Justy models and K0324AA093 for all L-series, XT and Legacy models. We recommend using these gear oils first before performing extensive internal repairs, synchronizer, drive or driven gear replacement.
NOTE: Although these gear oils carry common GL-5 specification, don't be fooled, they are specially formulated using additives that are differnt from domestically sourced gear oils.

Ok, so I've been doing some research on p/n K0324F0091. Commonly called Subaru Extra S." Apparently all the other Subaru Forums are all over this stuff. Lots of guys going in locally to buy a big 20L can. Or people finding dealers that will sell it. Seems it's helped a lot of Suby owners with syncro issues. It's listed on Subaruparts.com in a 20L can for 156.87 plus 18.82 Shipping! Someone found a dealer willing to sell it at the parts counter for $8.50/qt. I called the Portland, OR Wentworth Subaru dealer: -p/n K0324F0091 is now K03202F0091 - 75W-80 -$205.89/20L -P/n K0324AA093 is now K03202AA093 - 75W-90 -$198/5L I could use a gallon for a tranny and rear diff fill. Anyone local to the Portland area want in on a gallon for ~$50? Interesting page here: forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1032041And in the US-friendly can:
