I tried to install a new audio unit in my Justy (1990 1.2 4wd ecvt (Norway/Europe if that matters)) but I'm having some trouble getting it to work correctly.. The unit won't remember any settings after turning it off.. This is the wiering in the car.. And the instructions for installing the unit: I've identified the yellow/yellow-white and green/green-white as the cables going to the speakers, and i think I've gotten them wired up correctly. Is the red wire the car battery wire? And is the black wire going to the metallic body? This is how it is wired now: the red wire is connected to A7, and the black wire is connected to A8, with the audio fuse in position 2. The system is apparently working just fine, except for not having the ability to store any settings or radio stations. Any ideas about what I've farcleed up, or how I can mend this? Also, what is the function of the red (or red/green-striped)wire to the left in the top image? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

**potet**, welcome to this forum . From your pictures: -I see that the "switched-on" (blu/red) from the cars harness is missing. Unwrap the black electrical tape to find the switched power (blu/red). -The red/grn wire is the dash illumination (+), and is switched on only when the ignition is on. If your radio does not have a separate "ILL (+)" hook-up then just cap this wire to prevent shorting out all the illumination for the dash. -The missing blu/red wire is the switched power you are looking for (this will allow the radio to operate with engine off / key in first detent "on"). My guess: The "memory" always-on power (wht/blu) from the vehicle might be improperly hooked up to the radio's "switched" power wire. Using a test-lamp (or multi-meter), you should easily be able to resolve which power wire is which. If your harness turns out to be missing the blu/red wire completely, then you could still use the red/grn wire as a switched power but it will only work when the engine is running or the parking lights are manually switched on from the "P" rocker-switch on top of the steering column. -hope this helps you -RRJ

you need to find constant power and connect it to A4 which would be White/Blue on the justy or you could do what I did since I had a short in that wire and just run a wire straight from the battery to A4. Also if you have a meter you could try to tap into constant power somewhere else like the clock if you don't have one. Just make sure the wire has power even when the key is off.

I also had to run a lead straight from my deck to the battery.
Make sure you have an inline fuse close to the battery!
