Well, then I will do that as soon as possible. Matt, the loosening was at the nut which of course made the whole wheel move. That's when I tightened it the best I can by hand(HAH!)(cue eyeroll) and rigged a keyring, which held for the remainder of the trip. Like I said as well, I saw no damage to the hub or the spline, and I will order that kit on Friday. I am not sure not what the damage may be, I am just going to put on the new kit, no questions asked. Oh and the bearings are about 1,000 miles old, so hopefully they are ok, I did not see visible damage earlier today. Thank you guys so much, such good, quick straight-forward no biased-bullcrap damn good info ha. By the way Ferox, what is that picture of?
EDIT 3 seconds after I hit POST.....
RedRoo, your post showed up as I was clicking on mine. I will check that out right now, hopefully I can afford it hahaha

Umm....wow, not even 10 bucks....I really was thinking they were really expensive, and I am kicking myself very hard for not looking harder into it earlier. Damn.

Thanks for everything guys! And folks, is a fireside chat really necessary? Stacks never left, he is watching our every move. SJ, you need to lighten up. I like you, everyone likes you, but you need to leave your personal opinions out of this forum. It seems that you cannot give advice without a big helping of "you are wrong and I'll tell you why". It is getting old. This info that I have got as of late seems to have no personal issues, just straight information. That's how it should be here. I should have looked you up and had a beer with ya when I was up there. And by the way, who said we all need to get together and party? Anyone here in the NW can, we just have to meet in the middle, like PDX. Next spring?

**imaginarius** sounds like you have it wrapped up. I really couldn't understand your frustrated 1-page rant starting this thread, it took some pondering......then Snap!! Jim's woes sound really familiar. Here's a pic I snapped of my hub before installing the "new" spindle kit. -join me for a pint next time you find yourself in PDX, and yes the PNW willing should rally in the spring. -RRJ

Hopefully Imag your problems are solved. This axle nut loosening up is an issue that many people have faced, I did too. One fine day many years back, I thought the car was driving funny and on inspection realised that the only thing holding the front wheel was the caliper The mechanic then torqued it so high that he broke a bar, but it would still get loose after a 10-15km drive, it became so bad that we kept some nuts as spare. Anyway after looking up the parts manual I bought the spindle nut kit and it has been many years since I had this problem. I wonder if other cars have similar issues or is it that it is specific to Justy Anyone know if the Brat/GL/DL have similar axles and/or problems?
