Would cutting a coil out stiffen the front enough to remove the anti roll bar without undue effect? not usually, they perform 2 totally different functions when it comes to handling, the coils help determine damping and rebound rates along with the shock absorber, while the sway bar does just that, dampens body roll and sway.

Yet the body roll is affected by the spring tension. Only problem with that is to higher spring tension leads to handling problems on rougher surfaces and rough riding. So you add a anti roll bar to effectively add spring tension from the inside strut, to the outside strut. Thus you can have a smooth ride with better bump absorption, and still have acceptable body roll.

agreed, but removing the anti sway bar, even with stiffer springs, could reduce body roll, but would introduce problems if you hit a bump mid corner..... why can't road cars run adjustabke "J-bar" or jacobs ladders for suspension, life would be so much nicer. for those that want to wade thru the article, heres an interesting explanation of 4 link suspension and j bars www.stockcarracing.com/techarticles/39098_four_link_tips_advice/index.html
