To the obviously concerned and engaged group: I may have located these parts and may be able to proceed! More to follow. Yay! Well it wasn't to be. After all this waiting now I have another set of DL brackets in my hand. Maybe another few weeks will get me the right brackets. Maybe not. This is so stupid. Finally a weekend where I can actually work on my car, but I do not have the parts (after really trying). I think my new calipers and rotors have been sitting there for a few months now. There's no wrecking yards near me, and everyone I get on the phone (including Subaru) has no idea what I am talking about - and we cannot even find these brackets on a drawing somewhere. I guess no one cares about this anymore? Ah well. Seriously too bad.

I do not have an extra set, but I do have a set that goes to my brake upgrade kit (sorry for being selfish). If I find it in my garage I will post a picture so at least people know what you are talking about. There haven't been any Justy's in the yards around me for a while. There is one listed at the yard farthest away from me that has apparently been there since July, but that could be a typo in their database since their policy is 3-4 weeks. If anyone has been to the Sherwood yard lately maybe they could confirm.?

If anyone has been to the Sherwood yard lately maybe they could confirm.? Hahahaha.... Awesome. I don't think you are being selfish at all, and I wouldn't ask you to break up your kit. Well I just got in from trying to put my brakes on without those parts. Just frustrated - have had these parts and been driving with not-the-greatest pads in my DL calipers for what seems like months now. So - I turned my wheel lock to lock, and there is no contact with these brackets and the suspension. The rack seems to stop internally. There's about 1/4" between the bracket and the diagonal link (forgot what it's called) and no marks that show it's been touched previously (my wife likes to turn until it will turn no more and keep trying and I have been known to bust off 1 lane U-Turns whilst navigating San Francisco). Anyway, I have no idea what these brackets are for - but they are necessary. Only thing they definitely do is add a touch of strength to the caliper area, and add around 1/4" of thickness under the bolt - which is ultimately why I could not continue. I am glad I had the foresight to verify this before breaking the seal on my hydraulic system. Just looking for brake part torque specs so I can snug my bolts and set the car down. I think it's 45ft/lbs for the bolts but I need to confirm that. I have been "torquingly challenged" lately. Thanks for your comments. I took a pic of the ones on the '91 4x4 too but I cannot find it anywhere for some reason.

Here it is!!!! #15 - "Boot Protector" but this is DL version. The GL is similar, but more like a triangle shape with the point pointing inward at the engine (versus the wheel).
