Hey guys!
Please move this post if it belongs somewhaere else....
I found this board on a google search.....excellent.
So to get on with it.......let me explain why I'm here....
It looks like I will be changing jobs soon, meaning I will be driving about 120 miles round trip each day and I'd like to do this in something other than my Chevy truck (Silverado). Now I found a very nice little Justy ('94) with only 88K on it near me. It's in very good condition (straight body, no leaks, near-perfect interior...) and they only want $1K for it. Of course, I've been driving by it for the last 6 months, and when I spoke with them today, they are VERY interested in seeing this car go bye-bye!..... I think I can get them down to $800 or less. The only downside is that it is only front-wheel drive. Now normally I'd be happy with FWD, but since we do get a few days of chains or four wheel drive only road closures, it'd be nice to have 4wd. I don't want to off-road this little beast, just want to plop it into 4wd on the fly when I need it! Now, I happen to know where 5 or 6 near-complete Justy's are living (pick-n-pull), and I was thinking I might pick this and then convert it to 4wd. I'm assumming (yes, I know what that does ) that this should be pretty easy. Has anyone done this? I know I would need pretty much everything from the flywheel back (fly-wheel?, clutch, PP, trans, driveshaft, 3rd member, rear half shafts and hubs) but what else might I need? Also, I've heard both good things and bad things about the engines in these litttle guys, but given good maintenance, would this even be worth it?
Thanks,
Bill
