Hi, Does anyone know what size the Justy rear diff ring and pinion is? 152 MM? Also what ratio? Wikipedia lists a 5.2 and a 5.285 for the 4WD. Is that correct? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_JustyThanks Cliff

No, a boxer will not fit in a Justy.

"5.2" and "5.285" should actually read 5.20:1 and 5.285:1 and are spoken five-twenty to one, five-twenty-eight to oneThese are your final drive ratios. For every turn of the axle, the selected speed (1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear etc.) must first turn five and a quarter rotations (roughly). The actual diameter of the crown wheel/ring gear is probably about seven inches.

I had snuck two questions in there. 1) What is the diameter of the Justy's ring and pinion? Most Imprezas rear diffs are R160 or R180 which is 160 mm or 180 mm. I was wondering if the Justy uses the rarer 152 MM (same as 1995 1.8 liter Impreza rear diff). 2) Is the Justy's ratio a very short five point two to one? I am running a direct drive electric powered 1995 Impreza using a 3.9:1 ratio. I would love to find a 5.2:1 ratio ring and pinion to slip in. Details on the Electric Imp at www.ProEV.com. Cliff
