I'd recommend that you stay away from 12" Marshal brand tires, available at Wal-mart. Bought a set, had them balanced and the cars had a shake in the steering wheel ever since. Had them rebalanced, still...shake at 80-100 KM/H. Had them balanced AGAIN and it's better but still present. Funny thing is that each time Wal-mart checked the balancing, they needed adjustment. Either the 'techs' have little to no idea what they are doing or these tires go out of balance.....seems unlikely on the tires, likely on the techs. Either way, the tires suck. 10K KM's on them and they are almost half worn.....Made in China crap. Maybe I got a shitty batch of an already shitty tire? Hmm, they were $25 a piece, on special. Get what you pay for, I suppose, haha. Looking forward to changing over to a new set of Goodyear Nordic winters from Canadian Tire. Sweet Goodyear winters, made especially for Canadian Tire stores, especially for Canadians. Yay. Might even have them studded. Imagine the traction! To our northern American friends; these tires are worth the drive over the border. reviews.canadiantire.ca/9045/0021471P/reviews.htm

Those Nordics are high on the bang-for-your-buck scale. I have them on two vehicles right now. The Justy has the previous version of the Nordic (wintertrac) and the current Nordic are a big step up. Tons of siping, I have not had mine studded, they seem to perform well without.

When my Marshall tires were new, they were great - but only for about 5000kms! I drive the island highway a LOT, and believe me - stay away from Marshall if you don't like hydroplaning.

When my Marshall tires were new, they were great - but only for about 5000kms! I drive the island highway a LOT, and believe me - stay away from Marshall if you don't like hydroplaning. No doubt. Absolutely terrible in the wet. They also made my car pull to the left. Odd but true. Had an alignment done, balance checked several times and constantly checked tire pressure. Nothing worked. The car stopped pulling as soon as I replaced the tires. Big thumbs down on those 12" Marshals
