A badgless grill? I really like the look on MK1 and MK11 vws, and thought about trying it with my little justy. All you'd need was an extra grill, and some extra time... What do you think??

I think, I`m gonna try putting aluminium mesh (2mm×2mm diamonds) in there, on my 2nd non-roadlegal justy 86`, to see how it looks.....and if it`ll be good im gonna put it on my justy 92`

Personally, I don't think the mesh would look good in there... But I like the photoshop pic! Thanks for the realization! I think I'll do it too! I thought it'd be cool with a little "subaru" or "turbo" or some script on the bottom corner or something. Dylan

You can paint the mesh in black.....and than somehow paint in the subaru with white or something.....

Yeah, that wouldn't be bad I guess. I've just seen a lot of cars with some goofy mesh stuff, and it looks horrible. There are ways to do it right though... Like if you used the stock grill surround... that would be okay. But I'm sure if you just cut out some mesh in the shape of your grill and stick it on it will look silly! I really like the look of the badgless though... Think I will look for a spare grill somewhere...

Duke; ALL, I just took a Dremel to a good deal of my grill's 'honeycomb'... If I didn't already discard it, I may have a chunk big enough to actualize your Photochopped concept using the stock 'meshing' - got a Dremel and patience? I've been goofing with a custom grill job based on the original frame since mine was cracked a bit. Will post when complete... Kanpai, #891989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 122, 299 miles

We did some changes to the grill on my friend's "sunflower" (sunfire), we used polished aluminum diamond shaped gutter guard from Canadian Tire. it worked great, we cut it with shears and placed it in, a few bolts did the trick, until he ran his car into the snowbank, thast when we decided to weld a few tacks to hold it in place. I'll see if I can find a pic of it, it might be hard to visualize, but the grill is much like the photoshopped red one up there, but with a chrome look. Amd the good news is, you wont get any leaves in ur engine bay lmao.
