Ok as you may have known I have got my hands on a justy and I have a small oil leak beside the alternator.
I went under the car and notice that it is the oil pan which is leaking. Understood it may just need to have the gasket replaced.
How big of job is this and does anyone have some recommended instructions on how to do this.
Its a 1995 5sp 4wd
Thanks

1st.. You will need to support the engine from the top side (a chain on the lifting hook attached to the cyl head and 4" by 4" piece of wood across the strut towers should work unless you have an engine supporting fixture used for FWD cars.) Next, remove the engine intermediate exhaust pipe (Small pipe between the Cat and long pipe to muffler) Then drain the oil, remove the 2 nuts that attach the center support member to the center motor mount. Next remove front splash shield (4 small bolts) then remove the 4 bolts that hold the center support member in place and remove the member. You may also have to remove the center motor mount (3 bolts) to get to the bolts at the rear of the oil pan. The rest is just a matter of removing the 20 oil pan bolts and resealing. Remember 87-88 Justys used a cork/rubber gasket for the oil pan and 89-95 Justys used a metal plate with RTV on both sides to seal it. Good Luck! Jim

That's great, thanks for the info. Seems like a good size job but will try it out next weekend.
Will post some pictures of the fix.
Thanks!

I had an oil leak on that side of the engine which I though was coming from further down, but it ended up being the camshaft seal, it then ran down and pooled further down. Just maybe something else you want to check.
