I reccomend 35 psi, thats what i run in my justy, but i also have the 12" rims which came on the earlier models, you can purchase the 12" rims s at many junkyards and I highly reccomend them. I base that reccomendation solely on the fact that you can get tires at Walmart for $20 each. Note on later models some brake parts may need to be swapped out if you are in fact switching to the smaller wheels, i know the one bracket for the front calipers have to be switched to achieve a proper mount of the wheel.

It is recommended both by the tire manufacturers and subaru that 28 psi be run on the tires with the 12" wheels. Billy2600, go check your tires and you will notice that they are worn more in the center then they are on the outsides. By airing them up that high you will also be decreasing your traction(I bet you hydroplane alot in heavy rain).

Nah buddy, I actually do not hydroplane in rain, and There is no abnormal tire wear. I believe on the side of these WalMart tires it says 32, ill check though just fore fun. I like this air pressure it works for me.

I like this air pressure it works for me. You must have some tires that are smaller than stock then. The bridgestone tires that I have are slightly bigger than stock and they say 28 psi on the sidewall.

145SR12 is the stock tire size for DLs, I think. 155SR12s will also work, as will 145/80R12 and 155/80R12s. I ran 6.00 X 12 bias plys for a while also but they are taller.
Stock tire pressure is 26 - 28, I would not reccomend more than 30 under load. 35 is insanity, your car will ride like a rock and tires will wear down the center. I have the same "Wal-Mart tires" ala Douglas Xtra Tracs. Keep in mind that a full size Chevy Silverado 4X4 with 265/70R16 (32") requires 35 psi. That probably weighs TWICE as much. And the pressure on your sidewall is your maximum rating, as in the MOST air you could put in.

Silly goose. Every tyre is different. You just read the damn sidewall and it tells you maximum and recommended pressures.

You're darn right Seattlejusty. 26 PSI can be great in a 28 or 35 psi max tire, but it can be dangerous in a 44psi max tire.

depends on the day, my rims leak, so when i air up, i air up to 40psi, i find the best handling around 35 psi up from and about 32 out back. Anything less that 30 on a rear tire, and the back end tries to pass you on the curves.

Yea, I just had to replace a tire on my Justy, Mine has some odd sized 13's and I had to go outside of the city to buy a tire and that tire was 70$, which is still less than getting Canadian Tire to special order me one for 100$. Next time I change tires I'm going to a standard size 13"
