I just put in a pressure gauge. It reads 40+psi on cold start up. Then after running for 30 mins and oil is warmed up it runs at 25-30psi at 3300rpm. On low idle the gauge barely reads above 5psi. I run 10W30.
Is this normal?

You did not mention how many miles are on your Justy but, 5 PSI with the engine up to operating temp at curb idle speed is low. Justy rod bearings are known to delaminate (Pieces of the bearing material flake off the backing shell, which increases clearence between the bearing and the rod journal on the crankshaft) this causes low oil pressure. I put main and rod bearings in my Justy at 133,000 mi for this reason. I think if you do the same the oil pressure will rise and your Justy will live a long and happy life.
Just a hunch!

hi
your pressure is much too low, or your gauge is a liar. =) the working pressure for the 1200 engine is 45psi / 3bars that must generate between 1000 to 1500 rpm. when the 45psi is reached, a blow-off valve opens. the standard low pressure gauge lights up, if the pressure gets lower than 12-14psi / 0,9bar. so i think your new pressure gauge is working false.
if you really got low pressure, this can be caused by the wrong oil or oil pump failure. the justy oil pump gets vulnerable for low pressure after some time. use 10W40 oil and check the pressure again. the higher your viscosity is, the higher your oil pressure will rise.
sorry for my english. (germany)

Thanks Subiejim and 1200gli. My Justy has 200,000km on the Odometer. I currently have the low pressure switch sensor disconnected. However, I only recently installed the pressure gauge. When I was running with the low pressure sensor connected the low pressure lamp did not illuminate.
I am going to try 10W40, if that doesn't help then I will change the oil pump.
Thanks again.
