What's everyone making for oil pressure. if they have a gauge installed.
usually i'm somewhere around 40-45 while cruising down the road. After an oil change last weekend, i'm almost getting worried. I'm down to like 37-40 PSI. while cruising down the road.
In neutral and reving it up it'll do the same thing.
Maybe it's just crappy oil.. i did change from 20W50 Royal Purple, to 5w50 Quaker State Synthetic (only crap i could find in 5w50). When i changed the oil it didn't seem to have much or any metal shavings and crap, It certainly didn't look metalic at all, it was a little black..but that's about it.
I'm hoping i kinked the gauge line while i was changing the filter.. i'm gonna look for that first.

20W50 is much "thicker" than 5W50 - so your loose in oil pressure is just normal... This is because more oil vanishes through the slide bearings.

Mine would be high 30's cold and low 20's warm. I use Chevron 20w-50. My engine just failed, though.

i hope it's this crappy oil. It seems like when it's hot the stuff is like water!!!
Dipstick still comes out with oil at the "full" mark, and it's clean as a whistle.
I'm half contemplating, draining all the oil out, into something i can reuse, taking a look at it, and pouring it back in if it looks ok.
I'm not liking the low oil pressure...but i'm not sure i want anything thicker when it's cold out.

Is Royal Purple synthetic? I've experienced differences in oil pressure just by switching brands.
