i finally got to start on the bodywork now i have another car to use, but coming across some problems as i go, made more awkward without any powertools. here are some pics i got the day i removed the panels: a while back i had a mishap with a lump of concrete...but a simple fix. this side has suffered from corrosion and the bumper bracket has rotten 6 hours t-cutting & waxing the roof, boot lid and passenger side! i think i will do it more often now, the paint just glimmers in the sunshine the ignition is fixed now too, and runs lovely

i spent the day with her today, managed to get a few things i wanted done, and got harrassed by the rain while doing so... anyway, bumper bracket is replaced and primed in red oxide: tomorrow i am intending to remove a broken bolt that used to hold the bottom of the wing in place! i do enjoy removing broken bolts so much i have all the old underseal off the inner arch so i can clean it as necessary and waxoil before replacing with a nice shiny wing, and finish cleaning infront of the radiator if i get time i will fix the same old hole in the exhaust, again ;D

Lookin' good... definitely looking real good! I recommend brushing on a little bit of rust inhibiting goop called '<b>POR-15</b>' (just don't get it on your hands - won't come off for 3 weeks) after bringing those little oxidation spots down as close to metal as possible. Say... was you molding pin stripe black stock??? Keep up the good work; Happy New Year, #891989 Subaru Justy RS 4WD 125, 001 miles

thanks for the responses guys! im buzzing from the results and hard work i have done over xmas and now, its amazing what you can achieve when you set your mind to it!! the pin striping is a standard thing on this car, as is all the colour coding as it is the "special" model that was sold here in the UK (i will try and get a scan done of the brochure from 1993 with all the specs etc) (talking of which, did you know the UK spec EFi pushes 96 N-m of torque?!! cool huh!) i am also running it on 99ron fuel from the supermarket down the road so she runs very nice!! hehehe ;D anyway, back to why i am logged on today, all work has been done for the MOT except i am waiting on my welder to return my broken drop link.. hopefully this afternoon and i can go back and replace it for the morning (MOT re-test). here are the piccies of her now done: BEFORE: AFTER: all thats left on the outside body is the rear arches, sills below the doors, and t-cut/polish the doors and level up the spot lamps. the rear arches are in a bit of a state really, but funds are low at the moment so maybe in a couple of months i can get them sorted at a bodyshop by a pro i tell you what, i am so happy right now!!

Wheels are Superlites

they are actually made by KN Wheels and the wheel name is Minator they are basically the same, and made in the UK. just these ones are cheaper. specs are: size 13x5.5 pcd 4x100 centre bore (machined at factory for me) 60.1mm and offset of 25mm. if i was to buy another set i would get an offset of 25mm for the front, and 15mm for the rears. i think this would a) look alot cooler in wheel terms, and b) would (hopefully) match the well fitting of the front wheels in the arches. basically, the rear has a smaller track dimension than the front, so the wheels dont poke out as far. the 15mm offset would combat this.
