Those very much resemble miata wheels. I think the white everything looks just so much better than any other colour known to man.

well, after some bastard did this to my car and buggered off it has now been "written off" by my crap insurance company. im keeping the car but they have made it so i cant drive it on the road anymore (until it is MOT'd and approved again etc). so far this hit n run gimp has cost me just shy of £800 just on insurance, and thats without a single bit of payout (still working on that but its gonna take weeks..) the t's & c's have swallowed my premium for the year, ive lost the excess, paid £41 to keep the justy (this is how much it is worth apparantly, but a bargain to me), ive had to restart a fresh insurance policy for my new car i got today (a steal at £375, 26k on the clock, 2 lady owners and a fresh 12 month MOT this morning! im now the humble owner of a Fiat Punto! 1.1L!!!!) im also picking up a project bike on sunday, Honda NS125R, all it needs is a brake hose, battery and bolt tthe fairing back on - £300. bargain, they sell for a grand. i might do a total rebuild on this though, i can get it up to my house and use POWER!!! ;D ;D anyway, justy goes back into hibernation for a while to get some beauty-sleep and now i can finish what i started....but it might take a while! at least one end is sweet

I hope you get it sorted, it's a great-looking car. £41! I paid £125 for mine and it's in ten times worse condition than yours. By the way, what's the difference between Jem and standard spec - is it just a sunroof and all the whiteness?

I hope you get it sorted, it's a great-looking car. Ditto I Payed £800 for mine!! well if you ever decide to get rid of it baron, ill definatly make the drive down from manchester and take it off your hands! my shell is damn near mint, but i want the colour coded-ness, and have been looking for a fuel injection engine for a while now to do a rebuild and turbo! EDIT oh dear! sounds like you got a very good deal though, just a pity its a punto!!

i think you are right, the only difference between the Jem and others is the colour coded paint and a sunroof. i have the brochure somewhere, i'll try and find it later! i got a spare Efi engine from a salavage yard called HDC Subaru. www.hdcsubaru.com/good service, crap website. but they always got me what i phoned up for, except for a 3 door drivers door. (damn cant get one anywhere so i brought a whole 3 door justy for it. funny thing was, just after i got the car ebay listed a door skin for the drivers door! i got that too, so if anyone ever needs the part number..) if you want paint, try this place www.paints4u.com/Default.aspx the punto was a great deal, my only problem with it is my head touches the roof. thankfully it has a sunroof so i tilt slightly. have you seen the Simpsons episode of that tall bloke in a beetle which Nelson laughs at?! yeah thats me. "haaaahaa" its got NO torque whatsoever, i keep stalling it becuase im used to being able to drive at low rpm in 3rd in a justy, but go below 25mph in 3rd in a punto = stall. then you have to prat about with the immobiliser before you get going! "HAAAAAHAA" is all i can think of at these moments! not a bad little car though, quiet impressive on downhills.

i was thinking of painting the bumpers, put it never looks quite right as the texture is different. i quite like the black bumpers to be honest.
How much did you pay for your spare engine if you dont mind me asking? i will give them a ring tomorrow

i paid £100 for the engine and £50 for a little man and his lorry to deliver it - he wouldnt help get it off the lorry though due to "health & safety regs"....the ponse.
have a mate or a crane to help you, it is a lot easier!
OR, in my opinion, you would be far better off getting a little more cash and buying a complete justy. wait for a goodish one to come up on fleabay, ideally with an mot so you know you can drive it home. ive seen them for £200 and been biting my desk wanting to get one. get all the parts you want and maybe find that the shell is good too. (bagsy the rear cv's ;D )
it makes an interesting road trip too, i got my justy from Newcastle, exhaust fell off, something was jammed in the door locks and no stereo. a great memory!

damage like that sucks!!! If i had a dent in my cavalier in that spot it would take roughly 2 hours to fix the dent and then several hours to prep and paint How ever on my cavalier the sob hit right behind the passenger door so it has to be slide hammered out and i have never done it so i am waiting for him to pay up or until i get the funds and having it professionally fixed(the previous owner dented the same fender by wedging it between to semi trucks) since he didn't have insurance and it happened on private property i am basically F'd any ways i see no reason your insurance company called it totaled they screwed you over. is there more damage that is not shown nothing a body panel hammer and a block couldn't fix in 3 hours or less (mine 22 hours alone to fix because they have to remove the front door, right hand side window in rear, the tail light right side and the rear bumper ps the right side door dosen't open at all so there is a lil more timedeating the door pin strait again. A can of spray paint to cover it up mot probably wouldn't notice lol. as for those rims what they look like to me is the rims on a bmw mini cooper only not in 17"

insurance companies dont like to repair panels, they like to cut them out and weld in new, plus they wont just spray it over with a rattle can, it would have to be proffesionally sprayed and blown in to blend in with the current paint.
i cant see a reason why that wouldnt go through a VIC check as it is, there doesnt look to be any sharp edges. you would have to then declare it to your insurance as a cat ??c?? write off but this doesnt normally affect the price.

actually on my cavalier its like ($1700 vs $2200) to repair that panal then replace it.
in america when the insurence company writes off a car the value of the vin is decreased to $0 and considered a totaled car wether it is repairable or not how ever you can usually buy back the title from the insurence company usually for cheap

its going good thanks Fraser, been very busy! im still driving the punto, i think im just gonna run it into the ground, if it doesnt beat me to it by itself... it turned out the stalling prolem was the head gasket, but got it fixed for free by the garage i got it from, and so far so good. i have done nothing with my justy, its still sat in my lockup the other side of town, waiting. ive gone and got myself a motorbike project to help my justy along, total rebuild and respray, either use it and get 80mpg etc, or sell it and get some good money for it. either way, all money earnt by it goes towards parts for the justy. it needs a look at the osr brake as it doesnt work (i took it for a spin over xmas and found out, what a hoot, i forgot just how pokey it was!) im aiming to get the bike done by/in spring time, and by that time i should be near finished on my house too, so my time and money can go on something fun (justy!) which, should reall have no issues getting the ok, providing i get the brake sorted. ive got too many other things i still need to focus on at the moment, so my toy sadly has to wait..
Bmw mini wheels? they are nothing like them. try the original mini!
