Hello from Norway, I've got myself a 1985 Subaru Justy 1.0 10EF with working 4x4 Three owners, myself, an old lady, and her son 89000 km Black and red interior with big 4x4 labels on the seats. So, does this thing have a galvanized body ? I have to wonder, as I have found NO rust on it, the drivers rear left seat mount was broken, and had gone partually through the floor, so I did a bit of mig welding on it today. I have both front outer CV joints on order, cam belt & Pulley, and a replacement alternator just cleared customs, and I need to replace both headlights. I haven't found winter and summer tires for the 12" rims, So I guess 13" or 14" rims are next. I do have some 17" rims originally for an Opel\Vauxhall Vectra, I don't suppose they'll fit ? <- Joke. I want more power, so a turbo/efi conversion is high on my list.. Is there someone who sells performance exhausts for the 10EF ? Headers ? Sports Cam shaft ? Performance parts at all ? Polyurethane bushes ? I found these for the 1985 Suzuki swift, I wonder if they will fit the Justy ? www.superflex.co.uk/products.php?cat=340Sorry for the fuzzy pic. Attachments:

Changed the timing belt and tensioner today. When I first got the car 2 weeks ago, I had no service history on it, and it's due for it's Norwegian equivalent to an MOT. The oil was very black, So I drained it, and put new semi synthetic oil in it without changing the filter. When I put the dipstick in to check the level, the new oil had turned black, and I hadn't even started the engine... So the very next day I put some Omega Engine Flush in it, ran the engine for 10 minutes, drained the oil, and put new oil + filter in it... Now the dipstick is shiny with new oil There was also a small oil leak from the valve seal on the flywheel side of the engine, I put some Omega 917 in the oil and hey presto, no more leak.... So, new oil + filter + timing belt & tensioner, so I hope the engine is sorted for now. I have a very light tapping sound on idle, So I guess I'll have to adjust the valve clearance. I'd like to add that I actually have two more cars, a 1973 Opel GT "race" car, and a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.6 Duramax truck.. The Justy was cheap, and it's pure joy to work on, and it runs on gas fumes.... It's for driving back and forth to work..

So, just finished power washing the engine and front suspension, I've changed both outer CV joints, and I'm waiting for the lower ball joints... Basically, after removing the dirt, most of the front suspension looks brand new.... The engine bay and engine has gone through a proper power wash as well, I think, 1-2 times more, and absolutely all the old oil + grit will be gone from the oil pan and lower parts of the block... The rest is really clean and shiny now. I also finished installing the sound system... It consists of: Head Unit: Pioneer single din, with DAB+, bluetooth, 3 RCA outs. Amp: Alpine MRX-F35, 2x55w for the rear speakers, and 1x 170w for the sub Rear Speakers: Pioneer 6x9" in parcel shelf. Sub-Woofer: MTX 12" 600w Capacitor: Boss 8 farad. Cables: 0-Gauge "The Install Bay" Battery: Stinger SPV44 Alternator: 45a stock This setup is kinda temporary, the amp will be replaced by a MB-Quart 5 channel one, and I'm getting a set of 4x6" infinity speakers for the front (I've got the speaker wires ready)... So far, I'm really satisfied with how it sounds and looks for that matter. I've also got a composite cable ready for a backup camera since I was installing the RCA + remote cables anyway. I'm going for a monitor like this for the backup camera, I've got one in my 1973 Opel GT race car as well, and it really looks like it belongs on an early 1980's car when it's folded up, kinda resembles an ashtray, not to mention the quality is really good as well... dx.com/p/et-438-foldable-4-3-tft-lcd-digital-monitor-for-vehicle-parking-reverse-camera-ntsc-pal-12v-dc-47974Also, I got my hands on four brand new 12" summer and winter tires through a local scrap yard, marshal or something like that.....

Hi. You done alot. Mine is the previous post green van. 1. What did u cover to power wash engine bay? 2. What detergent did u use. 3. What again is the sealant that cured the oil leak? I have one in the same place and by the distributor. 1. Nothing. I just had to open the distributor afterwards to let all the water out I'd cover the distributor, and perhaps the inlet. The reaason why I got water in mine, is I also had a leak around the distributor. and was spraying directly at it, don't do that. and you should be fine. 2. Normal engine degrease. Cheap brand from a local gas station + sponge and brush.. 3. Omega 917. www.magnagroup.com/products/omega/pdf/literature/odis917.pdf

Something about a clean engine bay.... Did a quick polish of my hood and front fenders.... The rest of the car is so faded it looks like it was painted in a completely different color. I've got some collision damage on both front corners, and a few dents all over the car, old lady as previous driver I think I'll get a set of front fenders, and bumper from a scrapyard, and I'll be set... Both headlights are on order. Personally, I'd say my 1973 Opel GT track car is porn.....

SubWoofers: 2x kicker 10" now the system really kicks you in the back.... those kicker 10's are almost taylor made for the justy. loads of hard and deep bass.. of course I had to loose the parcel shelf to get enough clerance. but the system really sounds amazing now, especially considering the size of the amp and alternator, not to mention the poor sound insulation...

santaclawYou're running the original hitachi carb? Any pix taken? I believe it's the stock carb, what make it is I have no idea. I do believe it has two ports, like the varajet's I've had on my Opels, as I can feel the engine "die" when accelerating before coming to life sometimes as if there is a vacuum something, or second port opening.. Also... I haven't cleaned it, and I guess it needs it... My dream is three little trumpets and three single carburetors. My Opel GT with Dbilas throttelbodies & trumpets... And my Vectra with the same setup... I just LOVE that sound...

I modified my wiper arms today, so normal wiper blades fit, I used a torch and bent the stock arm into a u at the front... Looks 100% better, I just have to paint the arms but I was fresh out of black matt paint, so as a temp paint job I wrapped them in black "rally" tape.... I can take new pictures tomorrow, so you can see all my latest "modifications" You can see in the pic below how the wiper arms used to have a screw through them, with a non locking nut that fell off (the previous owner was really proud of this patent), and how the wipers where mounted next to the arms, not to mention how weathered the arms where.. Now the arms fit into the wipers like they should, and they also appear to be black...
