it shouldent the 110A is just max output il probly have to make a few brackets but the altornator has to move up any way to make room for the external oil pump

im going to swap out the wimpy 35A altornator for a 110A chrysler altornator and run a red top Sounds like a great project! What are you planning on using for a voltage regulator since the Chrysler alternators are regulated by the ECM? I'm thinking an external regulator from a mid 80's or older carburated Mopar should do the job.

Off topic but, how is the external pump working? is it hooked up? I think I could use that option if it is working well.. Im jealous of your fab abilities, how'd you start? just pick up a welder or what? -T

hmm i dident know they wer extrnal regulated that kinda sucks maybe il shift to a 90A chevy 1 wire with a v belt it will give me more clearance for the oil pump belt. its a cog belt like timing belt only 1/2" wide my first welder was a $99 campbell hausfeld flux core from princess auto it was awsome lasted about 5 years just start makeing random stuff go karts are good projects cuz after your done you can just chop em up if the cops dont take it away. the external oil pump is the most extreme option but Guaranteed problem solved but is probly going to cost $2000 and a hell of alot of time to get it done

That air horn is a nice product - I installed the same unit on my '91 Honda CB-750. As long as you run good quality wiring it should last a long time. Woah you had a CB750? I am contemplating my first bike and have decided on a CB350 or CB360. look into cb 750s, they are all round bettter bikes than their smaller displacement brothers, and ill tell you why. one the parts are plentiful for all model years, and in alot of cases interchangeable with other 45ci four cylinder bikes from those years. two you will most likely out grow a smaller cb and look for a bigger bike any ways once you build up the confidence and skills. the cb 750 has power thats easily controlled and perfect for learning on, but when you want to let it rip it will pull. three if you do any freeway/high way rideing your bike needs to have some balls to help merge and pass other cars, and if neccasary power away from a dangerous situation. four they are just about the coolest bikes you can get.

bump I just installed a DDM Tuning 55w 5000k hi/lo kit. Surprisingly the glare isn't bad at all. Just aimed the headlights down a tad. Haven't been flashed once. I can post pics if anyone would like

I am ... blinded to the point of danger almost weekly (3 times a month/average) byeither oncoming vehicles with aftermarket blue headlights or else SUVs or Imprezas with ditch lights in my reaar view mirror. I can dim the RVM but I cannot dim the side mirror. The side mirror flips in... one out of one hundred gets the point. Danimal

My OEM alternator is 55amps on my gen-2 ** scoobiemate209**, are you looking to replace the headlamps, or to add aux HID driving lights? If you are replacing the headlamps (not my suggestion by the way) then the HID ballasts should draw less power. If you are planning to go headlights + aux HID driving/fog lights, then yes you may want to consider running a stronger alternator. The OEM charging system is just sufficient to run all the loads in the car simultaneously. Add auxiliary lighting or some amplified subs, and you quickly overwork the system (plus the OEM wimpy 10ga alternator output wire). There has been many discussions over bumping up the alternator output on this forum. The short of it is more power load = more draw from the engine power. But I can have a 75amp alternator and it will only add an additional "engine power" draw when I ask for more load than stock, or the alternator only gives the power needed to satisfy the load. About a year ago, I tested charging system on my car. I found that my machine, with every load I could throw at it simultaneously, would draw ~46amps at the alternator. -welcome to this forum -RRJ

be careful with that big alternator!! I had a problem finding a six inch frame 45 amp alternator for my justy at the junk yard so I opted for the seven inch frame 120 amps alternator. The belt yipped everytime I started it till the battery was filled up again. (I run 1000 cold cranking amps) I beefed up the bracket so the belt did not yip and the pulley center broke out, I had a slight misalingment of the alternator to the crankshaft pulley now I drive around with no alternator and a huge battery or two in place to run stuff, I call it a hill billy hybrid. The ring of the pulley wonted come off and I don't want to take the bolt out becasue I had a key way malfunction from a previous owner and stuck it all together with red lock tight. I do run those super blue head lights and on the battery voltage instead of the alternator voltage they get an extremely long life and they are as bright as stock headlights. The main safety thing for bright head lights is dim head lights on small cars look farther away to people sitting high up in huge pickup trucks trying to rush a left turn. I like them bright lights!!!
