Hi,
I just purchased a 1991 Justy, but the 4WD doesn't work. When I press the button nothing happens, the light doesn't turn on, nothing at all.
For a test I drove on some grass to see if it was maybe just the light thats blown, but its definitely only operating as a 2WD - I almost got stuck!
I can't seem to find any Justy repair manuals (just a basic Subaru one from Chiltons). Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem, where to start etc???
Thanks, Liam

If you look down behind the engine you can see the transfer case with vacuum lines coming off of it. They should lead to components on the firewall to the left of the wiper motor. These should be connected together will a few "t's". There will be a vacuum line that connects to the intake manifold. Make sure the lines exist, are connected, and are in good shape. Also, make sure the electrical connections at the firewall components I mentioned are all good. The Chilton manual you saw is pretty much it aside from the factory service manuals.
