I have a 92 justy with the ecvt all wheel drive. It has only 30,000 miles on the odometer. the probem with the trans is it seems to slip at highway speeds under power or hard exceleration. If I drive very easy it seems ok. I have seen the clutch light come on twice now, and only comes on if the trans feels like it is slipping. The clutch checks out at the 2 to 4 omh resistance and the brushes look ok. What is the min length of the brushes? I have removed the trans oil pan and there is no sign of any metal in the filter. Is there a way of checking the powder clutch? before I tear down the trans??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Stu

There should be a line scribed into one side of each brush. If they are nearly worn down to the line or if there is no line visible it's time to replace them. From what I know they usually only last about 35 - 40,000 miles.
