my 1989 subaru justy 4wd that i bought not that long ago engages 4wd when the button is up, where are the wires and how do i fix this?

All you need to do is swap the two vacuum hoses that go from the solenoids on the firewall to the transmission.

Does anyone know the part number for a new solenoid? I have one that is not working for the 4wd.

I don't think they are available anywhere. Best bet is to find one at a junkyard. There is a Facebook group for this forum that is more active, you might find someone selling one there. Another option is to find a similar solenoid from another car. Older Toyotas are a good source. They don't fit the mounting bracket or wiring harness, but do the job and can be found cheap.

Does anyone know the part number for a new solenoid? I have one that is not working for the 4wd. Any vacuum solenoid should work, all it has to do is open when it has power and then close and release vacuum without power
