Hi I just picked up an 88 justy. It runs and drives but just started having an issue. There's a ground wire on the transmission that grounds to the fire wall it started smoking. Anyone know what it's for? It's just under the starter. Thanks

There are several grounds depending on year-country etc... usually there is a big one from the block to the frame front right. The little one tranny to frame would not carry enough amps to start... ymmv. My guess is you are missing at least one. Add more

Take your pic... but more importantly let us know how many other ground wires run from the block to the chassis... and what sort of gauge.
