I have a 1993 Justy Gl 4wd with 94,000 miles. The last problem I've encountered (for now) is the oil pressure light. It comes on 15-20 minutes after I start the car. It stays solid at idle and flickers when lowering rpm from 1000 down to idle. I am running 10w-40 oil and my idle is set around 800-900 rpm. I would rather not put thicker oil and higher idle to keep the light off. I feel like this is a temporary bandage for a more serious issue. The oil light comes on when the pressure is below 10psi, correct me if I'm wrong. I will be posting all the information I've gathered and ask for anyone on the forum to contribute to hopefully make a sticky for anyone with oil pressure issues. There seems to be alot of them.
So, the main components of the oil pump that need to replaced and repaired are the pump housing, inner and outer rotors and any gaskets, seals associated with the pump and cover. It seems like this would also be a good time to replace the oil pressure switch. In past experience with other vehicles I've owned, there is a small chance this could cause the light by itself.
This might also be a relativley inexpensive upgrade to keep track of your pressure. -Thank eporter123

Sorry to break the bad news but, oil pressure issues on the justy can also be caused by worn out main and rod bearings.
So try the oil pump first because it's easy but you may need to dig a lot deeper.

Yeah indkid87 correct. The oil pump is the obvious starting point and the specific "cause" of the oil pressure problem has never really been proven or identified. I think it is simply systemic. Once the little bearing and friction surfaces start to wear, oil pressure starts to go down which then enhances or accelerates wear and it kind of self amplifies. That is why I am a proponent of the rebuild. Most members don't acquire their Justy with an overly maintained engine. Once you rebuild it, then you can make sure it's taken care of. With the I3 design and/or only three pistons to turn the crank I think the small rod bearings may see an inordinate amount of force and/or torque coupled with a small oil capacity, but that is just a musing with no data to back it up.

<< This is the Crankcase cover from what I can tell, very expensive and hopefully not necessary for everyone. There are a few people who claim this cracks often and might be the source of some of the issues with the Justy oil system. I cannot confirm this, haven't had my Justy long enough.

I hope someone benefits from this, please add any input on what I should add or change to get this stickied. I hope this can become a one stop shop for all oil pressure and oil pump questions. Thanks to everyone who owns a Justy and cares enough to spread the knowledge they have aquired and the time to post walkthroughs, how to's and answer questions. I am learning quickly that we own unique cars and they need a special type of owner to work on and keep them running.
Thanks,
