So my 2 front CV joins on the front are ripped and I was going to replace them for me this is a bigger job but I have a friend to help me. I also will be replacing the break pads since the car has been sitting for like 12 years. Is there some other easy stuff I should do since I will be having this all done? any suggestions would be great.
Also Was thinking about getting some aftermarket Fog lights any suggestions on those? maybe an Amazon link too lol
Thanks

I always replace the whole axle when the boots go bad.
It's a pain to replace just the boots, and I think you need special tools.
I just bought a couple for my 89 from rockauto and Amazon for under $100.
While your down there inspect your ball joints for play and your brake hoses for cracks.

boots are not hard to replace... I get some for around 8€... I'm going to 3D print special brackets to use rounded foglights from skoda felicia.

If the car was driven much with the ripped boots, I'd probably replace the joint. cv joints don't like dirt and exposed grease is a dirt magnet.
if the rip is because of dry rot from sitting replacement is an option. don't use split joints... they leak, fall apart etc. you don't need special tools to take them apart. you may need something to crimp the clamp.
you have a lot of work ahead if the car has been sitting 12 years. probably all the hydraulics (brakes) will need new rubber, including flexible brake lines.
those lights posted are 35 watts... they are for show only. even with higher wattage bulbs they will probably leak light all over.... just know that going in. 2 hella 500's will throw all the light you need on the street, and not blind everyone including you from all the wasted light.

Its hard to give you advice, we don't know if you are just doing this on a budget kinda thing just to get by or know how bad things are.
Yeah the lights are for show but i do like the bracket, you could just swap the lights out.

I am in NZ and I have not seen them here but have seen them on the net somewhere
