So on the way to work the other day my car died and I couldn't get it to turn over, so I got picked up and came back with a jumpbox from work and drove the car to the shop with it on. Suspected bad alternator because there was no output. I put a new alternator on and the battery is not getting any charge but the alternator is putting out 16volts at the positive wire on the back of it. With the car running I connected one test lead of my multimetrr to the power on the back of the alternator and the other test lead to the positive battery terminal and got 0.33volts, so I know there is not a voltage drop.. I looked at the wiring diagram and I'm not seeing anything obvious to test next. Btw, the battery light was on on the dash since I've owned the car, but with the new alternator, the battery light is off and only starts to illuminate when I few the car up...i didn't have time to look at the car today so ill be checking it out tomorrow. Should be interesting to see what the problem is.

Did you mean ohms when you metered at the back of the alternator and the battery terminal? That seems to be the issue is disrupted flow on your alternator lead. The alternators on these cars only puts out 55 amps, any kind of increase in resistance could effect the charging of your battery.

The alternator being at 16v suggests it is not loaded down. You voltage drop tested the positive but did you do the same to the ground?
