I have a 88 2WD Justy DL.
Recently I was having issues with losing power while driving. I mean like totally dead power lots. I would grey a jump and run for about 5 minutes then die.
I got it towed to the parts store and had to leave it overnight so they could chafe and test it. Next day they tell me I need a new battery, bought and installed and on my way.
Two days later it does the same thing. Pulled the alternator and had that tested. Came back fine. Charged battery reinstalled alternator and had it tested while on the car. Came back with a bad voltage regulator.
Got three new one installed and still showing bad regulator while on the car but fine off the car. Dealership says regulator is part of the alternator, parts guys say it is seperate.
Any ideas on what could be the problem. I am getting no charge at the battery but 11 and 14 at the alternator plug and 30+ from the main on the back of it.

Sounds like a bad wire from the alternator to the battery. Also check the main fuses near the battery on the left strut tower.
The wire from the alternator has a union, a single pole quick connector with a heavy gauge white wire. Check to make sure it has continuity.

At this point, I would find a friend with an ammeter. I would start at the battery cable and pick places to take readings heading towards the alternator.
Or, you could hook one end of your multimeter to the positive wire coming off the alternator, and the other end to the positive wire on the battery and read voltage, to test for a voltage drop. If reading volts, keep moving the leads towards eachother until you isolate the area where the voltage drop is.
A lot of cars have the power coming from the alternator, through the starter, and then to the battery, giving it many places to have a voltage drop.
I had a jaguar vanden plas com in with a condition just like this, and they went to several shops that couldn't fix it. The alternator was putting out full amps, but only a few amps made it to the battery, and it kept dying. I finally found the corroded connection where the alternator power wire hooked to the starter. Cleaned it all up and reconnected it and got the amps back to the battery.
