Opened up the pan and noticed heavy fuel odor. Filter is completely odorific. Liquid in pan is fuel(to a certain extent, I'm sure) and it's...flammability may be lost(been sitting through the summer) but it's powerful. Not a fan of this.

im posting this for continuity between this and another thread.
I dont think this is fuel. I think its oil thats either fuel soaked through extremely worn rings or just really bad, old oil. the fact that your little breather filter is soaked would imply to me that its coming THROUGH that filter which leads to the PCV system.
Rationale: its caused by excessive blow by from at least ONE cylinder with severely worn rings. that cylinder would also likely have a fouled plug and burn the most oil.
It makes 0 sense that its straight fuel as the fuel source is BELOW the carb air pan by about 2-3 inches and carburetors work on gravity (effectively, with some of Bernoulli principle). The fuel, if it were fuel, would have to get pushed BACK out of the carburetor into the air pan if it is straight fuel. Also if the car has sat as long as i think it has (from some other posts) it would have evaporated by now.

Ok, when the weather breaks I'll remove the entire housing and dig a little deeper; for now... It's oil, but it's also thin and smells exactly like fuel. I touched it. Looks like a cup of oil per gallon of gas-kinda ratio.

your rings are so bad that they are letting raw gasoline run down the cylinder wall into the crank case. then when an ignition cycle happens it blows the oil out of the crank case through the PCV into your intake. the system is working exactly as it should except your rings are shit.

If the air filter is heavily restricted, or the oil is over full, it will make its way in to the air cleaner. I wouldn't write off the engine just yet.

Soooo I totally forgot about it, my buddy just reminded me; but I noticed the pooled liquid and flammable filter right after I got her. Just went over my head I guess. THEN I changed the filthy, disgusting oil.
